We introduce a class of finite semigroups obtained by considering Rees quotients of numerical semigroups. Several natural questions concerning this class, as well as particular subclasses obtained by considering some special ideals, are answered while others remain open. We exhibit nice presentations for these semigroups and prove that the Rees quotients by ideals of N, the positive integers under addition, constitute a set of generators for the pseudovariety of commutative and nilpotent…

On the class semigroup of a numerical semigroup
The class semigroup of a numerical semigroup $$S$$S is the semigroup $$\mathcal {S}(S)$$S(S) of classes of the relative ideals of $$S$$S. Our aim is to find some properties of $$\mathcal

Finite Nilpotent Semigroups of Small Coclass
The parameter coclass has been used successfully in the study of nilpotent algebraic objects of different kinds. In this article a definition of coclass for nilpotent semigroups is introduced and
On semigroup presentations
Semigroup presentations have been studied over a long period, usually as a means of providing examples of semigroups. In 1967 B. H. Neumann introduced an enumeration method for finitely presented

The aim of this work is to study monoid morphisms between commutative monoids. Algorithms to check if a monoid morphism between two finitely generated monoids is injective and/or surjective are
