Abstract Micro-dimple arrays are widely used as surface textures in tribology to improve friction performance. Through-mask electrochemical micro-machining (TMEMM) is a popular method to generate such arrays. However, machining accuracy is reduced by lateral undercutting of the micro-dimples.
