Redescription and affinities of Hulsanpes perlei (Dinosauria, Theropoda) from the Upper Cretaceous of Mongolia
@article{Cau2018RedescriptionAA, title={Redescription and affinities of Hulsanpes perlei (Dinosauria, Theropoda) from the Upper Cretaceous of Mongolia}, author={Andrea Cau and Daniel Madzia}, journal={PeerJ}, year={2018}, volume={6} }
Hulsanpes perlei is an enigmatic theropod dinosaur from the Baruungoyot Formation (?mid- to upper Campanian, Upper Cretaceous) of Mongolia. It was discovered in 1970, during the third Polish-Mongolian paleontological expedition to the Nemegt Basin. The taxon is known based on a partial braincase and an incomplete right hindlimb. However, the braincase fragment has never been described nor illustrated. We redescribe all elements that form the holotype of Hulsanpes and discuss the affinities of…

The phylogenetic affinities and morphological peculiarities of the bird-like dinosaur Borogovia gracilicrus from the Upper Cretaceous of Mongolia
- Geography, Environmental SciencePeerJ
- 2021
The lack of a falciform ungual, and the distinctive morphology of the second toe in B. gracilicrus are interpreted as a derived specialization among Troodontidae and not as retention of the plesiomorphic condition of non-paravian theropods.
A new carcharodontosaurian theropod (Dinosauria: Saurischia) from the Lower Cretaceous of Thailand

The phylogenetic analyses revealed that Siamraptor is a basal taxon of Carcharodontosauria, involving a new sight of the paleobiogeographical context of this group.
A new alvarezsaurid dinosaur from the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia

Three new alvarezsaurid specimens from the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia are reported, which were associated with each other and also with multiple oviraptorid skeletons in a small multi-species assemblage.
The body plan of Halszkaraptor escuilliei (Dinosauria, Theropoda) is not a transitional form along the evolution of dromaeosaurid hypercarnivory
- Environmental Science, BiologyPeerJ

The halszkaraptorine bauplan is confirmed as a derived amphibious specialization, and does not represent a “transitional” stage along the evolution of dromaeosaurids.

Paravian Phylogeny and the Dinosaur-Bird Transition: An Overview
- BiologyFront. Earth Sci.
- 2019
It is concluded that troodontid affinities of anchiornithines, and dromaeosaurids affinITIES of microraptorians and unenlagiids are dismissed in favor of sister group relationships with Avialae, and main phylogenetic hypotheses that compete some topics about the non-avian dinosaur-bird transition are analyzed.

The phylogenetic affinities of the bizarre Late Cretaceous Romanian theropod Balaur bondoc (Dinosauria, Maniraptora): dromaeosaurid or flightless bird?
- Environmental Science, BiologyPeerJ

The reinterpretation of Balaur implies that a superficially dromaeosaurid-like taxon represents the enlarged, terrestrialised descendant of smaller and probably volant ancestors, and its phylogenetic placement within Avialae is not biased by character weighting.

The holotype skull of the unusual oviraptorosaur Incisivosaurus gauthieri is provided, which indicates that although the incisiform teeth of I. g authieri are morphologically distinct they are replaced in typical archosaurian fashion.

The two syntypes of Alectrosaurus olseni Gilmore, 1933, are redescribed and found to belong to two theropod families and one syntype was correctly diagnosed by Gilmore as a tyrannosaur and is recognized here as the lectotype of the species.

- 2012
The primary goal of this paper is to provide a relatively comprehensive descriptive morphology and illustrations for one member of Oviraptoridae, namely Khaan mckennai, with an emphasis on characters that can be used to establish a phylogenetic hypothesis for the taxon and group as a whole.

Two new specimens of Deinocheirus are described that were discovered in the Nemegt Formation of Altan Uul IV in 2006 and Bugiin Tsav in 2009 and have many unique skeletal features unknown in other ornithomimosaurs, indicating that Dein Rocheirus was a heavily built, non-cursorial animal.
The arctometatarsalian pes, an unusual structure of the metatarsus of Cretaceous Theropoda (Dinosauria: Saurischia)
- Biology, Environmental Science
- 1995
Morphometric analysis indicates that the arctometatarsalian structure is significantly more elongate and gracile than underived metatarsi, and this structure is associated with relatively elongate distal hind limbs per unit femoral length.
