Recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) was analyzed. From 1988 until 1996, 725 OLTs were performed in 669 patients. In 52 adults, HCC was confirmed histologically.
