  • A 40-year-old female patient complained of persistent pelvic pain after a stapled transanal rectal resection (STARR) procedure was performed for obstructed defaecation. She was treated with topical nifedipine for 6 weeks and anti-inflammatory drugs for 3 months without resolution of symptoms; therefore, she was referred to us 5 months after surgery.
