Reconstruction of the inundation history in the floodpulsed 12000 km 2 wetland of the Okavango Delta is a prerequisite for the calibration of hydrological models, development of ecological models, and improved understanding of gemorphological dynamics of this system. Although flood mapping has been previously done based on NOAA AVHRR data, there is a need for higher resolution inundation maps.
