To study the recognition by tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (TrpRS) of tRNA(Trp) discriminator base, mutations were introduced into the discriminator base of Bacillus subtilis, Archeoglobus fulgidus, and bovine tRNA(Trp), representing the three biological domains.
