Pipe reciprocation, a method proven to be successful for obtaining good full string cementing jobs is not widely used when cementing liners. Previously valid operator objections to reciprocating liners have been largely overcome in recent years. Over 100 liners have been successfully cemented in the Prudhoe Bay Unit, Alaska, using reciprocation during slurry flow. The method described has been used on more than 20 jobs and is currently the method of choice. 17 refs.
