Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) encompasses a spectrum of hepatic histopathological changes ranging from non-inflammatory intracellular fat deposition to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which may progress into hepatic fibrosis, cirrhosis, or hepatocellular carcinoma.
