Abstract

To the Editor: The NHSN surveillance definitions for urinary tract infection (UTI) have been changed twice in the last 6 months. In January 2009, the NHSN removed ‘‘asymptomatic bacteriuria’’ (ASB) from criteria used to diagnose UTIs.
