The present study analyses ostracods from sedimentary samples collected in the Sao Pedro-Sao Paulo Archipelago, a small set of remote rock islands located Northeastern to the Brazilian coast. Thirteen species were identified, and their zoogeographical distribution was studied. An emendation for Keijcyoidea praecipua (Bold, 1963) is proposed in this paper. The distribution of the species which occur in the archipelago varies significantly: Triebelina sertata Triebel, 1948, is a cosmopolitan… Expand
Ostracoda (Crustacea) from the Archipelago of São Pedro and São Paulo, Equatorial Atlantic, with emphasis on a new Hemicytheridae genus
TLDR
One new genus and species are described and illustrated: Berguecythere insularis gen. nov, widely distributed in recent sediments in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, north and northeast of Brazil and the Rocas Atoll. Expand
RICHNESS AND PALAEO-ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BENTHIC OSTRACODA (CRUSTACEA) FROM THE OCEANIC ISLAND OF TRINDADE AND ROCAS ATOLL, BRAZIL
TLDR
The recorded fauna reveals a mixed fauna likely influenced by dispersal of shallow-water taxa between seamounts during Quaternary sea-level lowstands, and endemic ostracode taxa are apparently absent in these two islands. Expand
The genus Xestoleberis (Ostracoda: Xestoleberididae) in the Northern, Northeastern and Eastern regions of the Brazilian continental shelf.
TLDR
The analysis of 359 samples from three regions of the Brazilian continental shelf resulted in the recognition of six species of the genus Xestoleberis, four of which are new and herein described, X. inesae sp. Expand
New species of Xestoleberididae (Crustacea, Ostracoda) from Archipelago of São Pedro and São Paulo, Equatorial Atlantic
TLDR
Two new species of Xestoleberididae, endemic to Archipelago of Sao Pedro and Sao Paulo, are described, which represent an important contribution to the knowledge of the evolutionary history the species inhabit areas. Expand
