This essay examines the dynamics of Rhodesian cricket during the period of that state's Universal Declaration of Independence (UDI) from Britain (1965–79). During this period of international isolation under the white minority regime of Ian Smith, Rhodesian sport was subject to a variety of pressures and influences.
