The luminescent capability of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) was investigated and compared with that of carbon nanodots (C-dots) obtained from the same functionalization process. It was found that the optical gain of GQDs is higher than that of C-dots due to their geometrical advantages such as larger surface area to volume ratio and smaller volume. Under optical excitation at 266 nm, lasing emission was observed from a Fabry-Perot cavity containing a mixture of GQDs and TiO(2) nanoparticles…
Resonant random laser emission from graphene quantum dots doped dye solution
Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are more promising than other kinds of semiconductor QDs because of their photostability and biocompatibility in different applications such as bioimaging, biosensing and
Realization of multiphoton lasing from carbon nanodot microcavities.
TLDR
A CD laser, which demonstrates random lasing under three-photon (i.e. 1400 nm) excitation, can be realized by sandwiching a CD film between a quartz substrate and a dielectric mirror and the formation of strongly confined microcavities, which arise from the non-uniform distribution of refractive indices inside the CD film, is attributed to the realization of lasing emission.

Amplified Spontaneous Green Emission and Lasing Emission From Carbon Nanoparticles
In this work, the optical properties of carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) can be modulated by the dopant-N atom and sp(2) C-contents. CNPs prepared with the low urea mass ratio of 0.2:1 (CNP1) exhibit blue
