A re-analysis program has been undertaken to determine the relation between annoyancedue to aircraft noise and noise exposure expressed as the dB(A) peak value. Areas reexamined from a Dutch, German and Japanese study were found to be exposed to more than 50 overflights per 24 hours, thus placing them in the high exposure category, as defined by the principles developed in the Scandinavian aircraft noise investigation.
