Nobiletin and tangeretin were the most abundant polymethoxyflavones in citrus fruits, especially in the peels. Quantification of these two flavones in citrus peels was traditionally conducted by using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method. In this study, Raman spectroscopy was utilized to achieve rapid quantification of nobiletin and tangeretin in citrus peels after simple solvent extraction and chromatographic separation. Powdered sample were examined nondestructively without… Expand

Rapid adsorptive separation of citrus polymethoxylated flavones in non-aqueous conditions
Abstract Flavanoids exist as secondary plant metabolites, which displays a wide variety of biological effects. The polymethoxylated flavones, such as nobiletin and tangeretin, present in CitrusExpand
Identification of polymethoxylated flavones from green tangerine peel (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride) by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
Polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs) were extracted from Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride using a procedure that obtained a consistent mixture of PMFs both in identity and proportion. The mixtureExpand
Identification of nobiletin metabolites in mouse urine.
By comparing the SFC profiles of metabolite mixtures with the synthesized standard compounds, the major nobiletin metabolite of mouse urine is identified as 4'-dem methylnobiletin, whereas 3'-demethylnobile tin is a minor metabolite. Expand
Efficient and scalable method in isolation of polymethoxyflavones from orange peel extract by supercritical fluid chromatography.
A newly developed method for efficient and relatively large-scale isolation of four PMFs from sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) peel by employing supercritical chromatography (SFC): nobiletin, tangeretin, 3,5,6,7,8,3',4'-heptamethoxyflavone and 5,6-7,4'-tetramethoxyFlavone. Expand
