A Scalable Distributed Data Structure (SDDS) is a data structure of a new type specifically designed for multicomputers, P2P and grid computing systems. SDDS RP* provides a range partitioned file scaling up dynamically over distributed nodes. Our concern is the efficient execution of RP* range queries. The query may address an a priori unknown number of data servers. The client may get replies in parallel from very few or very many servers, perhaps thousands.
