We present a numerical study of the Blume-Capel model with quenched disorder in 3D. The phase diagram is characterized by spin-glass/paramagnet phase transitions of both first and second order in the thermodynamic sense. Numerical simulations are performed using the Exchange-Monte Carlo algorithm, providing clear evidence for inverse freezing. The main features at criticality and in the phase coexistence region are investigated. The whole inverse freezing transition appears to be first order… Expand
Random, thermodynamic and inverse first-order transitions in the Blume–Capel spin glass
A class of model systems undergoing a glass transition with inversion of the fluid and glassy phase in temperature is investigated in order to qualitatively characterize the so-called inverseExpand
Inverse freezing in the cluster fermionic spin glass model with a transverse field

Inverse freezing in the van Hemmen fermionic Ising spin glass with a transverse magnetic field
Abstract The inverse freezing (IF) is studied with a quantum fermionic van Hemmen spin glass (SG) model. The disorder is treated without the use of replica method, in which an exact mean fieldExpand
Critical Study of Hierarchical Lattice Renormalization Group in Magnetic Ordered and Quenched Disordered Systems: Ising and Blume–Emery–Griffiths Models
