Radiotherapy alone in the curative treatment of rectal carcinoma.

Abstract

Surgery is the standard treatment for rectal adenocarcinoma. The tumour is resistant to radiation; doses above 80 Gy are necessary and have to be delivered by endocavitary irradiation.
