Radiofrequency (RF) needle ablation has been developed for use in treating the symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. The transurethral needle ablation (TUNA) device permits accurate needle placement in the prostate and the RF generator has been designed to create reproducible lesions in prostate tissue.
