Malignant gliomas are incurable because of their diffuse infiltration of the surrounding brain. The recepteur d'origine nantais (RON) receptor tyrosine kinase is highly expressed in several epithelial cancer types and mediates tumorigenic, pro-invasive as well as metastatic effects.
