Overexpression of lipogenic enzymes is a common characteristic of many cancers. Thus far, studies aimed at the exploration of lipogenic enzymes as targets for cancer intervention have focused on fatty acid synthase (FAS), the enzyme catalyzing the terminal steps in fatty acid synthesis.
