In this thesis, a polar-feedback linearization system for use with MRI RF power amplifiers was designed and simulated. The design here presented is intended to replace Analogic's (located in Peabody, Massachusetts) feed-forward, digital linearization scheme. This involved the selection and testing of components meeting the stringent specifications required for a high enough level of fidelity, as well as a simulation of the amplitude loop of the linearization system designed using the data… Expand

Feedback linearization of RF power amplifiers
TLDR
Feedback Linearization of RF Power Amplifiers introduces new techniques for overcoming the challenges faced by the designer of a Cartesian feedback system, and culminates with the results of the first known fully integrated Cartesian Feedback power amplifier system, whose design was enabled by the techniques described. Single-Sideband Transmission by Envelope Elimination and Restoration
A new type of single-sideband transmitter is described which does not require the use of linear radio-frequency amplifiers. Amplification is accomplished by a process in which the phase-modulationExpand
MESFET nonlinearities applied to predistortion linearizer design
Three different circuit topologies of predistortion linearizers are proposed using MESFETs biased at low drain bias. The design of a C-band linearizer using two 1- mu -gate-length devices isExpand
On compensating nonlinear distortions of an OFDM system using an efficient adaptive predistorter
TLDR
It is confirmed by computer simulation that the proposed approach produces a faster convergence speed than the previous adaptive predistortion technique, and provides a small output backoff as low as 5.5 dB for an OFDM system employing an HPA with a linear filter. Expand
