An experiment was carried out to study residual effect of organic wastes amendment on productivity of an ultisol. The field was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with four treatments of 20 t ha equivalent to 8kg/plot of burnt rice mill waste (BRMW), unburnt rice mill waste (URMW), sawdust (SD) and control which were replicated five times to give a total of twenty experimental units. The treatments were applied in 2006 and 2007 cropping seasons and residual effect studied in the…

THE EFFECT OF HEAVY DRESSINGS OF SLURRY ON FORAGE MAIZE PRODUCTION
TLDR
Slurry applications increased the level of E and nitrate-N in the plants, but depressed Mg, and crude protein and in vitro digestibility were not affected, and there was no significant effect on the percentage DM of the crop.
Managing Agricultural Phosphorus for Protection of Surface Waters: Issues and Options
The accelerated eutrophication of most freshwaters is limited by P inputs. Nonpoint sources of P in agricultural runoff now contribute a greater portion of freshwater inputs, due to easier
Changes in Soil Chemical Properties Resulting from Organic and Low-Input Farming Practices

Mean weight-diameter of soil aggregates as a statistical index of aggregation.
A analysis by the wet sieving method (Tiulin, 7; Yoder, 9) has many desirable aspects as a routine procedure for characterizing the structural status of the soil. Among individual investigators,

Estimating Bulk Density from Organic-Matter Content in Some Vermont Forest Soils1
A close relationship between organic-matter content and bulk density was found in the acid till forest soils of the Green Mountains of Vermont. Reasonably good estimates of bulk density can be made

Soil Physics
SOIL physics, although a science having but few devotees, has grown up in two separate divisions, one dealing with soil as a habitat for plants and the other for large public buildings and roads,
