  • An interrogation scheme is described for the retrieval and manipulation of data file records. The language of the interrogation scheme allows for <italic>selecting</italic> file records with the use of logical condition statements, <italic>defining</italic> record classes, <italic>associating</italic> file records, <italic>editing</italic> printed output, and <italic>summarizing</italic> the results of the above operations.
