Strychnos potatorum Linn.F. is a medicinally important endangered forest tree species which belongs to Loganiaceae and is also known as nirmali and clearing nut tree. In traditional medicinal systems like Ayurveda, Siddha and Greek, the plant parts are used for treating eye and urinary tract infections; gonorrhoea and kidney troubles, leucorrhoea, tuberculosis, diabetes, venereal diseases and acute diarrhea. The plant showed the presence of various important phytochemical constituents which may… Expand
Pharmacognostic and Phytochemical Investigations in Strychnos potatorum Linn .
Objective: To investigate the pharmacognostic and preliminary phytochemical characteristics of leaves of an endangered medicinally important forest tree species Strychnos potatorum. Methods:Expand
Effect of Phytohormones on Leaf Explants of Strychnos potatorum L. - An Endegered Medicinal Plant
TLDR
The established protocols offer a valuable micropropagation method that could be useful as a starting point for in vitro conservation of this endangered plant, or for mass propagation of species for pharmaceutical importance. Expand
Phytochemical and IR -Spectrum analysis of Strychnos potatorum linn
The present paper deals with the phytochemical characteristics of leaves and bark of an endangered medicinally important tree species of strychnos potatorum . Preliminary phytochemical screeningExpand
A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW ON THETRAN VIDHAI KUDINEER: A SIDDHA POLYHERBAL FORMULATION
TLDR
Various facets like morphological characters, active constituents and pharmacological properties of ingredients of Thetran vidhai kudineer, a poly herbal siddha formulation comprising of four plants are described. Expand
Investigation of Alpinia calcarata constituent interactions with molecular targets of rheumatoid arthritis: docking, molecular dynamics, and network approach
TLDR
The computational study suggests that flavonoids present in A. calcarata rhizome may be responsible for RA modulatory activity, and quercetin and galangin could be potential development candidates for the treatment of RA. Expand
Eco-friendly and green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using leaf extract of Strychnos potatorum Linn.F. and their bactericidal activities
TLDR
These green synthesized nanoparticles showed bactericidal activity against multidrug-resistant human pathogenic bacteria and mixed nanoparticles structure against cubic and hexagonal structures. Expand
Medicinal plants in the prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
TLDR
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a ravaging inflammatory and autoimmune illness that affects the joints that can occasionally involve other internal organs, such as the nerves, eyes, lungs or heart. Expand

Antiulcerogenic potential of Strychnos potatorum Linn seeds on aspirin plus pyloric ligation-induced ulcers in experimental rats.
TLDR
Results indicate that SPP and SPE exhibit antiulcerogenic activity by both antisecretory and mucoprotective actions, and may be due to the presence of polysaccharides in seeds. Expand
Evaluation of antiarthritic activity of Strychnos potatorum Linn seeds in Freund's adjuvant induced arthritic rat model
TLDR
SPP and SPE showed reduction in rat paw edema volume and it could significantly normalize the haematological and biochemical abnormalities in adjuvant induced arthritic rats in both developing and developed phases of FCA induced arthritis. Expand
Studies on hepatoprotective and antioxidant actions of Strychnos potatorum Linn. seeds on CCl4-induced acute hepatic injury in experimental rats.
TLDR
Reduced enzymic and nonenzymic antioxidant levels and elevated lipid peroxide levels were restored to normal by administration of SPP and SPE, and Histopathological studies further confirmed the hepatoprotective activity of SPE when compared with the CCl4 treated control groups. Expand
In Vitro Antimicrobial Screening of Alkaloid Fractions from Strychnos potatorum
Alkaloid fractions isolated from Strychnos potatorum L.f. (Loganiaceae) seed were tested for their antimicrobial properties against some pathogenic gram positive, gram negative and acid-fast bacteriaExpand
Study on the diuretic activity of Strychnos potatorum Linn. seed extract in albino rats.
TLDR
The increase of cations in the urine on treatment with Strychnospotatorum seed extract (SPSE) was dose-dependent and supports the use of the Stryhnos potatorum seeds as a diuretic in folk remedies. Expand
Chemical investigation of the seed oil of Strychnos potatorum and spectroscopic estimation of linoleic and linolenic acids
