Summary. Subchondral bone cysts are rare lesions generally found next to major… Expand

Subchondral bone cysts of the phalanges.
TLDR
Radiologic and histologic examinations demonstrate that these lesions are identical to the subchondral bone cysts associated with osteoarthritis of the hip and the more recently described cysts of the hallucal sesamoids and the head of the first metatarsal. Expand

TLDR
Clinical and radiological appearances of these rare lesions, were typical enough to allow, in most cases, the diagnosis, and the treatment was based on curettage followed or not by cancellous bone graft. Expand
MR imaging of hemophilic arthropathy of the knee: classification and evolution of the subchondral cysts.
TLDR
It is demonstrated that magnetic resonance imaging allows a better understanding of the pathophysiology and the natural evolution of the subchondral cysts in hemophilic arthropathy. Expand
Expansile subchondral degenerative bone cyst secondary to osteoarthritis.
TLDR
A 53-year-old man known to have osteoarthritis of the left knee was examined because of a soft-tissue swelling overlying the pes anserinus tendon, which revealed an expansile subchondral cyst of the proximal tibia that was multiloculated, had a sclerotic margin and an extraosseous soft-Tissue component, and interrupted the cortex. Expand
[Intra-osseous and intra-articular cyst of the knee. Apropos of a case associated with osteochondritis dissecans].
TLDR
If the theory of a mechanical origin for subchondral bone cysts is accepted, then the osteochondritis certainly provided the port of entry that allowed formation of the intraosseous synovial cyst in this patient. Expand
Case report 732. Gout presenting as a large pseudo tumor (tophus) in the proximal end of the tibia.
A case of a large, lytic, tophaceous defect in the upper end of the tibia has been reported in a 44-year-old man as a solitary lesion. The term "gouty tophus" should not be confused with the geode orExpand
Subchondral cysts of the tibia secondary to osteoarthritis of the knee
TLDR
Two cases of unusually large subchondral lesions of the medial tibial plateau are presented and additional information obtained from computed tomography indicated that these lesions were sub chondral cysts secondary to osteoarthritis rather than tumors or other tumor-like conditions. Expand

Bilateral cysts of the lateral femoral trochlea.
We report the case of a young man with disabling anterior knee pain due to degenerative cysts of the subchondral bone confined to the lateral side of the femoral trochlea of both knees.
Macrophage-osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption in osteoarthrotic subchondral acetabular cysts
TLDR
It is found that, unlike osteoclast precursors in monocyte and other tissue macrophage populations, the addition of M-CSF to medium is not required for osteocline differentiation. Expand
