Three new quinoline alkaloids, 2-acetylevolitrine (1), 2-acetylpteleine (2), and semecarpifoline (3), along with 26 known compounds were isolated from the root bark of Melicope semecarpifolia. The structures of 1-3 were elucidated by means of spectral analysis. In addition, (2S)-(--)-7,8-dimethoxyplatydesmine (4), cis-(+)-7,8-dimethoxymyrtopsine (5), and (3R)-(--)-8,9-dimethoxygeibalansine (6) were isolated as new natural products. Several of these isolates were determined as exhibiting… Expand
New lignans and acetophenone derivatives with α-glucosidase inhibitory activity from the leaves of Melicope patulinervia.
Four new lignans and three new acetophenone derivatives were isolated from the leaves of Melicope patulinervia and compound 4 was found to exhibit the strongest inhibition against α-glucosidase with IC50 value of 6.02 ± 0.46 μM. Expand
Limonoids and quinoline alkaloids from Dictamnus dasycarpus.
Phytochemical investigation on Dictamnus dasycarpus (Rutaceae) has led to the isolation of four new secondary metabolites and twelve known phytochemicals, including compound 4, which was isolated as a natural product for the first time. Expand
Two new sesquiterpenoids and anti-HIV principles from the root bark of Zanthoxylum ailanthoides.
Decarine, gamma-fagarine, and (+)-tembamide were the most potent anti-HIV compounds, with EC50 values of <0.1 microg/mL and TI values of >226, >231, and >215, respectively. Expand
Furoquinoline alkaloids from Melicope bonwickii (F.Muell.) T.Hartley
Investigation on the leaves of Melicope bonwickii afforded a new 7-(2′-hydroxy-3′-chloroprenyloxy)-4-methoxyfuroquinoline, which showed significant activity against cervical cell lines (Hela). Expand
Chemical Constituents of Melicope ptelefolia
Phytochemical investigations on the methanolic extract of Melicope ptelefolia Champ ex Benth resulted in the isolation of three new compounds, identified as 3β-stigmast-5-en-3-ol butyl tridecanedioate (melicoester) and p-O-geranyl-7″-acetoxy coumaric acid (3). Expand
Antifeedant Activity of Enzopyrans from Melicope latifolia
Two benzopyrans, evodionol (1), and evodion (2) were isolated from the stem bark of Melicope latifolia. The structure of both compounds was identified based on 1D and 2D NMR, UV, and IR spectroscopy.Expand
Anti-inflammatory quinoline alkaloids from the root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus.
It is demonstrated that preskimmianine suppressed the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) in LPS-induced BV-2 microglial cells. Expand
Chemical Constituents from the Root Bark of Formosan Zanthoxylum ailanthoides
Two new N-isobutylamides, hydroxy lanyuamide I (1) and hydroxy lanyuamide II (2), together with one hundred and ten known compounds, have been isolated from the root bark of Formosan ZanthoxylumExpand
Cytotoxic Constituents from the Stem Bark of Zanthoxylum Pistaciiflorum
