Rare β-Resorcylic Acid Derivatives from a Halophyte-Associated Fungus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides JS0419 and Their Antifungal Activities
- Chemistry, BiologyMarine drugs
- 2022
Six new β-resorcylic acid derivatives were isolated from a halophyte-associated fungus, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides JS0419, and monocillin I and radicicol showed potent antifungal activities against Cryptococcus neoformans, comparable to clinically available antIFungal agents and radICicol showed weak antIfungal activity against Candida albicans.
Beta resorcylic acid lactones (RALs) from fungi: chemistry, biology, and biosynthesis.
- ChemistryArchives of pharmacal research

Highly Diastereoselective Synthesis of Syn-1,3-Dihydroxyketone Motifs from Propargylic Alcohols via Unusual Spiroepoxide Intermediates.
- Chemistry, BiologyAngewandte Chemie

The reaction sequence involves regioselective cyclisation of propargylic alcohols with incorporation of a triketone to give enol dioxolanes that are then diastereoselectively epoxidised to form unusual spiroepoxide intermediates and remarkably can be efficiently carried out as a one-pot process with no loss of overall yield or diasteretivity.
