We apply the nonstandard loop quantum cosmology method to quantize a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmological model with a free scalar field and the cosmological constant $\ensuremath{\Lambda}g0$. Modification of the Hamiltonian in terms of loop geometry parametrized by a length $\ensuremath{\lambda}$ introduces a scale dependence of the model. The spectrum of the volume operator is discrete and depends on $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$. Relating quantum of the volume with an elementary lattice…

Loop Quantum Cosmology, Space-Time Structure, and Falsifiability
Loop quantum cosmology attempts to understand the full dynamics of loop quantum gravity by realizing crucial effects in simpler, usually symmetric settings. Several subtleties arise especially when
Evolution in bouncing quantum cosmology
We present the method of describing an evolution in quantum cosmology in the framework of the reduced phase space quantization of loop cosmology. We apply our method to the flat
Cosmological big bounce transition
We analyze the big bounce transition of the quantum FRW model in the setting of the nonstandard loop quantum cosmology (LQC). Elementary observables are used to quantize compound observables. The
Minisuperspace model of compact phase space gravity
The kinematical phase space of classical gravitational field is flat (affine) and unbounded. Because of this, field variables may tend to infinity, leading to appearance of singularities, which
Cosmological Singularity Problem
Despite impressive phenomenological successes, cosmological models are incomplete without an understanding of what happened at the big bang singularity. Depending on the model, one would like to

We consider a flat cosmological model with a free massless scalar field and the cosmological constant {Lambda} in the framework of loop quantum cosmology. The scalar field plays the role of an
Exact solutions for a big bounce in loop quantum cosmology
In this paper we study the flat (k=0) cosmological Friedmann-Robertson-Walker model with holonomy corrections of loop quantum gravity. The considered universe contains a massless scalar field and the
Anti-de Sitter universe dynamics in loop quantum cosmology
A model for a flat isotropic universe with a negative cosmological constant A and a massless scalar field as sole matter content is studied within the framework of loop quantum cosmology. By
Bianchi I model in terms of nonstandard loop quantum cosmology: Classical dynamics
The cosmological singularities of the Bianchi I universe are analyzed in the setting of loop geometry underlying the loop quantum cosmology. We solve the Hamiltonian constraint of the theory and find
Turning big bang into big bounce: II. Quantum dynamics
We analyze the big bounce transition of the quantum Friedmann–Robertson–Walker model in the setting of the nonstandard loop quantum cosmology (LQC). Elementary observables are used to quantize
Loop Quantum Cosmology
Quantum gravity is expected to be necessary in order to understand situations where classical general relativity breaks down. In particular in cosmology one has to deal with initial singularities,
Quantum Nature of the Big Bang: Improved dynamics
An improved Hamiltonian constraint operator is introduced in loop quantum cosmology. Quantum dynamics of the spatially flat, isotropic model with a massless scalar field is then studied in detail
The minimum length problem of loop quantum cosmology
The appearance of the big bounce (BB) in the evolution of the universe is analyzed in the setting of loop quantum cosmology (LQC). Making use of an idea of a minimum length turns classical Big Bang
Is loop quantization in cosmology unique
We reexamine the process of loop quantization for flat isotropic models in cosmology. In particular, we contrast different inequivalent 'loop quantizations' of these simple models through their
