We study the influence of quantum fluctuations on the phase, density, and pair correlations in a trapped quasicondensate after a quench of the interaction strength. To do so, we derive a description similar to the stochastic Gross-Pitaevskii equation (SGPE) but keeping a fully quantum description of the low-energy fields using the positive-P representation. This allows us to treat both the quantum and thermal fluctuations together in an integrated way. A plain SGPE only allows for thermal…
Quantum quench in a harmonically trapped one-dimensional Bose gas
We study the non-equilibrium dynamics of a one-dimensional Bose gas trapped by a harmonic potential for a quench from zero to infinite interaction. The different thermodynamic limits required for the
Simulation of condensed gasses by variation of their coherent state expansions
The matter in a weakly interacting Bose-Einstein condensate is very nearly a classical wave. It can be accurately described by a mean field that follows a classical law of motion, with a small
Monitoring squeezed collective modes of a one-dimensional Bose gas after an interaction quench using density-ripple analysis
We investigate the out-of-equilibrium dynamics following a sudden quench of the interaction strength, in a one-dimensional quasi-condensate trapped at the surface of an atom chip. Within a linearized
Mean-Field Dynamics for Ginzburg–Landau Vortices with Pinning and Forcing
We consider the time-dependent 2D Ginzburg–Landau equation in the whole plane with terms modeling impurities and applied currents. The Ginzburg–Landau vortices are then subjected to three forces:

Spin distillation cooling of ultracold Bose gases
Through numerical simulations, the mechanisms involved are revealed and it is demonstrated that the spin distillation cycle can be repeated several times, each time resulting in a significant additional reduction of the thermal atom fraction.
Fully Quantum Scalable Description of Driven-Dissipative Lattice Models
Methods for modeling large driven dissipative quantum systems are becoming increasingly urgent due to recent experimental progress in a number of photonic platforms. We demonstrate the positive-P

Dynamics and statistical mechanics of ultra-cold Bose gases using c-field techniques
We review phase-space techniques based on the Wigner representation that provide an approximate description of dilute ultra-cold Bose gases. In this approach the quantum field evolution can be

Correlation evolution in dilute Bose-Einstein condensates after quantum quenches
The universal forms of quantum density and phase correlations after an interaction quench are found for dilute 1d, 2d, and 3d condensates. A Bogoliubov approach in a local density aproximation is

In this paper we study the transient dynamics of a Bose superfluid subsequent to an interaction quench. Essential for equilibration is a source of dissipation which we include following the approach
First-principles quantum dynamics in interacting bose gases: I. The positive P representation
The performance of the positive P phase-space representation for exact manybody quantum dynamics is investigated. Gases of interacting bosons are considered, where the full quantum equations to
