The interaction of coherent light with a nonlinear medium is modeled here by a general quantum anharmonic oscillator. The model is not exactly solvable in a closed analytical form. But we need operator solutions of the equations of motion corresponding to these models in order to study the quantum fluctuations of coherent light in nonlinear media. In the present work we derive approximate operator solutions. From these solutions we observe that there exists an apparent discrepancy between the…

An investigation on the nonclassical and quantum phase properties of a family of engineered quantum states

The main focus of this thesis is to study the nonclassical and phase properties of a family of engineered quantum states, most of which show various nonclassical features. The beauty of these states

Large Order Perturbation Theory and Summation Methods in Quantum Mechanics

The problems usually found in Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry involve the use of quantum mechanical models which, as a general rule, do not have exact solutions. Due to this very
