The spectral response and physical features of the 2D Hubbard-Holstein model are calculated both in equilibrium at zero and low chemical dopings, and after an ultrashort powerful light pulse, in undoped systems. At equilibrium and at strong charge-lattice couplings, the optical conductivity reveals a three-peak structure in agreement with experimental observations. After an ultrashort pulse and at nonzero electron-phonon interaction, phonon and spin subsystems oscillate with the phonon period T…

Real-time evolution of static electron-phonon models in time-dependent electric fields
We present an exact Monte Carlo method to simulate the nonequilibrium dynamics of electronphonon models in the adiabatic limit of zero phonon frequency. The classical nature of the phonons allows us
Interaction quench in the Holstein model: Thermalization crossover from electron- to phonon-dominated relaxation
We study the relaxation of the Holstein model after a sudden switch-on of the interaction by means of the nonequilibrium dynamical mean field theory, with the self-consistent Migdal approximation as
Charge-density-wave melting in the one-dimensional Holstein model
We study the Holstein model of spinless fermions, which at half filling exhibits a quantum phase transition from a metallic Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid phase to an insulating charge-density-wave (CDW)
Relaxation dynamics of the Holstein polaron.
TLDR
This work compute the relaxation time of the Holstein polaron in one dimension after it was driven far from the equilibrium by a strong oscillatory pulse and shows good agreement with the inverse relaxation time obtained from nonequilibrium simulations.
Field-induced polaron formation in the Holstein-Hubbard model
We study the effect of strong DC and pulsed electric fields on a Mott insulating system with coupling to optical phonons. A DC field of the order of the gap induces a metallic state characterized by
Thermalization after photoexcitation from the perspective of optical spectroscopy
We analyze the thermalization of a photoexcited charge carrier coupled to a single branch of quantum phonons within the Holstein model. To this end, we calculate the far-from-equilibrium time
Witnessing the formation and relaxation of dressed quasi-particles in a strongly correlated electron system.
TLDR
It is revealed that sub-gap excitation pilots the formation of itinerant quasi-particles, which are suddenly dressed by an ultrafast reaction of the bosonic field.
Photoinduced η Pairing in the Hubbard Model.
TLDR
This finding demonstrates that nonequilibrium many-body dynamics is an alternative pathway to access a new exotic quantum state that is absent in the ground-state phase diagram, and also provides an alternative mechanism for enhancing superconductivity.
Ultrafast optical spectroscopy of strongly correlated materials and high-temperature superconductors: a non-equilibrium approach
In the last two decades non-equilibrium spectroscopies have evolved from avant-garde studies to crucial tools for expanding our understanding of the physics of strongly correlated materials. The
Ultrafast electron dynamics in Mott materials
Mott insulators are a perfect example of how local electronic correlations can change macroscopic properties of materials. Varying slightly the doping or the pressure can transform a metal to an
