We review concepts and methods associated with quantum discord and related topics. We also describe their possible connections with other aspects of quantum information and beyond, including quantum communication, quantum computation, many-body physics, and open quantum dynamics. Quantum discord in the multiparty regime and its applications are also discussed.
Sharma–Mittal quantum discord
We demonstrate a generalization of quantum discord using a generalized definition of von-Neumann entropy, which is Sharma–Mittal entropy; and the new definition of discord is called Sharma–MittalExpand
Geometric measures of discordlike quantum correlations based on Tsallis relative entropy.
In this paper we formulate a kind of new geometric measure of quantum correlations. This new measure is in terms of the quantum Tsallis relative entropy and can be viewed as a one-parameter extensionExpand
Correlations for a Family of Two-Ququart Quantum States
In this paper, a quantum correlations analytical treatment for a family of two-ququart states are presented. For this purpose, a family of two-ququart quantum states, as well as a set of von NeumannExpand
Genuine quantum correlations in quantum many-body systems: a review of recent progress.
The aim of this work is to review the most recent developments regarding correlations in quantum many-body systems focussing on multipartite entanglement, quantum nonlocality, quantum discord, mutual information but also other non classical measures of correlations based on quantum coherence. Measurement-Based Quantum Correlations for Quantum Information Processing
It is shown that MbQCs exist more generally than entanglement and discord in optimal assisted quantum state discrimination and in a deterministic quantum computation with a single qubit. Expand

Dynamics of quantum discord of two coupled spin-1/2’s subjected to time-dependent magnetic fields
Abstract We describe the dynamics of quantum discord of two interacting spin-1/2’s subjected to controllable time-dependent magnetic fields. The exact time evolution of discord is given for variousExpand
Quantum Correlation Dynamics in Controlled Two-Coupled-Qubit Systems
The analytical treatment transparently unveils the physical reasons for the occurrence of quantum discord in a driven system of two interacting qubits, relating it to the dynamical invariance of the X structure of the initial state. Expand
Genuine quantum correlations of quantum many-body systems
Quantum information theory has considerably helped in the understanding of quantum many-body systems. Since the early 2000s various measures of quantum entanglement have been employed to characteriseExpand
Bell Diagonal and Werner State Generation: Entanglement, Non-Locality, Steering and Discord on the IBM Quantum Computer
We propose the first correct special-purpose quantum circuits for preparation of Bell diagonal states (BDS), and implement them on the IBM Quantum computer, characterizing and testing complex aspectsExpand

Quantum discord and multipartite correlations
Recently, it was realized that quantum discord can be seen as the minimal amount of correlations which are lost when some local quantum operations are performed. Based on this formulation of quantumExpand
An introduction to quantum discord and non-classical correlations beyond entanglement
In this didactic article we explore the concept of quantum correlations beyond entanglement. We begin by introducing and motivating the classically correlated states and then showing how to quantifyExpand
Generalized entropy and global quantum discord in multiparty quantum systems
Using Tsallis-q entropy, we introduce the generalized concept of global quantum discord, namely the q-global quantum discord, and provide its analytic evaluation for two classes of multiqubit states.Expand
Generalizations of quantum discord
The original definition of quantum discord of bipartite states was defined over projective measurements; in this paper we discuss some generalizations of it. These generalizations are defined overExpand
Operational interpretations of quantum discord
Quantum discord quantifies nonclassical correlations beyond the standard classification of quantum states into entangled and unentangled. Although it has received considerable attention, it stillExpand
The upper bound and continuity of quantum discord
Quantum discord is viewed as the measure of quantum correlation which can be nonzero even when entanglement in the system is zero. We study two properties of quantum discord: the upper bound and theExpand
Entanglement Distribution and Quantum Discord
Establishing entanglement between distant parties is one of the most important problems of quantum technology, since long-distance entanglement is an essential part of such fundamental tasks asExpand
Quantum entanglement and quantum discord in magnetoactive materials (Review Article)

Quantum discord as resource for remote state preparation
Quantum discord is the total non-classical correlation between two systems. This includes, but is not limited to, entanglement. Photonic experiments now demonstrate that separable states withExpand
