We report ground state energies and structural properties for small helium clusters (4He) containing a H− impurity computed by means of variational and diffusion Monte Carlo methods. Except for 4He2H− that has a noticeable contribution from collinear geometries where the H− impurity lies between the two 4He atoms, our results show that 4HeNH− clusters have a compact 4HeN subsystem that binds the H− impurity on its surface. The results for N⩾3 can be interpreted invoking the different features…

Quantum Monte Carlo investigation of small 4He clusters with a 3He impurity

Small helium (4He) clusters containing the lighter isotope 3He are studied by means of quantum Monte Carlo methods. Accurate ground state energies and structural properties are obtained using

Quantum and classical structures for 4He clusters with the H- impurity

The structural properties and the energetics of some of the smaller HenH− clusters, with n varying from 2 to 14, are examined both with classical and quantum treatments, making also a comparison with

Ground state of small mixed helium and spin-polarized tritium clusters: a quantum Monte Carlo study.

TLDR
For small clusters the binding energies are significantly affected by the precise form of the (4)He- T↓ interatomic potential but the stability limits remain unchanged, and some of the weakest bound clusters can be classified as quantum halo as a consequence of having high probability of being in a classically forbidden region.

Ground states of weakly bound three-atom systems: energies and shapes of 4He2X clusters from Monte Carlo calculations

The interactions between alkali atoms and 4He, as well as those between H- and 4He, are known to be even weaker than those between two helium atoms. In this work we show that when the three-particle

Ground state and excitation dynamics in Ag doped helium clusters

We present a quantum Monte Carlo study of the structure and energetics of silver doped helium clusters AgHen for n up to 100. Our simulations show the first solvation shell of the Ag atom to include

Predicting atomic dopant solvation in helium clusters: the MgHe(n) case.

TLDR
A quantum Monte Carlo study of the solvation and spectroscopic properties of the Mg-doped helium clusters MgHe(n) with n=2-50 indicates the shape of the repulsive part of theMgHe potential as an important cause of the different behaviors.

Benchmark calculations of ro-vibrational spectrum of HeH − and its isotopologues

Benchmark variational calculations of the Born–Oppenheimer potential energy curve (PEC) performed with explicitly correlated all-electron Gaussian functions with shifted centers are presented. The

Size-dependent solvation of p-H(2) in (4)He clusters: a quantum Monte Carlo analysis.

Variable-size (4)He(N) clusters doped with a single p-H(2) molecule are studied here using variational and diffusion Monte Carlo calculations that show the highly quantum nature of the dopant and the

A variational Monte Carlo study of argon, neon, and helium clusters

Clusters of rare gas atoms provide an interesting setting for the study of the issue of quantum mechanical localization. The properties of these clusters of 2–7 atoms are calculated using variational

Monte Carlo study of impurities in quantum clusters: H2 4HeN, N=2–19

Variational Monte Carlo techniques are employed in studying 4He clusters, with and without an H2 impurity. We find that a novel, yet simple, analytic nuclear wave‐function form, derived from a

TLDR
Second-order estimates of the exact density profiles and particle separation distributions, [ital p], are determined and show enhanced structure in comparison to variational Monte Carlo results, while Statistically meaningful oscillations in the second-order Estimates of the exactly density profiles are not observed.

Systematics of pure and doped 4He clusters.

The bulk limit of collective energies is reached as well as how the bulk Feynman spectrum is reproduced in the {ital S}-wave component of the dynamic structure function in large droplets, to bridge the gap between finite systems and the bulk limit.

Structure and dynamics of quantum clusters

Abstract Quantum clusters are van der Waals aggregates of light atomic and molecular species whose behaviour is dominated by quantum delocalization and exchange effects. We summarize here recent

Dopant location in SF6He39,40

Recent quantum Monte Carlo studies of doped helium clusters have yielded different results for the location of the SF6 impurity, despite good agreement on helium density profiles, thus raising the
