Bilocal holography is a constructive approach to the higher spin theory holographically dual to O(N) vector models. In contrast to other approaches to bulk reconstruction, bilocal holography does not take input from the dual gravitational theory. The resulting map is a complete bulk/boundary mapping in that it maps the complete set of O(N) invariant degrees of freedom in the CFT, to the complete set of higher spin degrees of freedom. After restricting to a suitable code subspace we demonstrate… Expand

Entanglement Wedge Reconstruction via Universal Recovery Channels
In the context of quantum theories of spacetime, one overarching question is how quantum information in the bulk spacetime is encoded holographically in boundary degrees of freedom. It isExpand
Holographic quantum error-correcting codes: toy models for the bulk/boundary correspondence
A bstractWe propose a family of exactly solvable toy models for the AdS/CFT correspondence based on a novel construction of quantum error-correcting codes with a tensor network structure. OurExpand
Large-N collective fields and holography
We propose that the Euclidean bilocal collective field theory of critical large-N vector models provides a complete definition of the proposed dual theory of higher spin fields in anti\char21{}deExpand
Entanglement wedge reconstruction using the Petz map
At the heart of recent progress in AdS/CFT is the question of subregion duality, or entanglement wedge reconstruction: which part(s) of the boundary CFT are dual to a given subregion of the bulk?Expand
A covariant holographic entanglement entropy proposal
With an aim towards understanding the time-dependence of entanglement entropy in generic quantum field theories, we propose a covariant generalization of the holographic entanglement entropy proposalExpand
Geometric aspects of holographic bit threads
A bstractWe revisit the recent reformulation of the holographic prescription to compute entanglement entropy in terms of a convex optimization problem, introduced by Freedman and Headrick. AccordingExpand
Bulk locality and quantum error correction in AdS/CFT
A bstractWe point out a connection between the emergence of bulk locality in AdS/CFT and the theory of quantum error correction. Bulk notions such as Bogoliubov transformations, location in theExpand
Bit Threads and Holographic Entanglement
The Ryu-Takayanagi (RT) formula relates the entanglement entropy of a region in a holographic theory to the area of a corresponding bulk minimal surface. Using the max flow-min cut principle, aExpand
The Ryu–Takayanagi Formula from Quantum Error Correction
I argue that a version of the quantum-corrected Ryu–Takayanagi formula holds in any quantum error-correcting code. I present this result as a series of theorems of increasing generality, with theExpand
Causality & holographic entanglement entropy
A bstractWe identify conditions for the entanglement entropy as a function of spatial region to be compatible with causality in an arbitrary relativistic quantum field theory. We then prove that theExpand
