In this thesis, we examine in detail the notion of black hole entropy in Quantum Field Theories, with a specific focus on supersymmetric black holes and the perturbative and non-perturbative quantum corrections to the classical area-law of Bekenstein-Hawking, where the latter stipulates that the thermodynamic entropy of a black hole is proportional to the surface area of its event horizon. To examine such corrections, we employ the formalism of Sen's Quantum Entropy Function where the complete…

Near-horizon radiation and self-dual loop quantum gravity
We compute the near-horizon radiation of quantum black holes in the context of self-dual loop quantum gravity. For this, we first use the unitary spinor basis of to decompose states of Lorentzian

Abstract We reinterpret the OSV formula for the on-shell action/entropy function of asymptotically flat BPS black holes as a fixed point formula that is formally equivalent to a recent gluing

Arithmetic of quantum entropy function
Quantum entropy function is a proposal for computing the entropy associated with the horizon of a black hole in the extremal limit, and is related via AdS/CFT correspondence to the dimension of the
Quantum black holes, localization, and the topological string
We use localization to evaluate the functional integral of string field theory on AdS2 × S2 background corresponding to the near horizon geometry of supersymmetric black holes in 4d compactifications
Logarithmic corrections to extremal black hole entropy from quantum entropy function
We evaluate the one loop determinant of matter multiplet fields of $ \mathcal{N} = 4 $ supergravity in the near horizon geometry of quarter BPS black holes, and use it to calculate logarithmic
Black hole partition functions and duality
The macroscopic entropy and the attractor equations for BPS black holes in four-dimensional N = 2 supergravity theories follow from a variational principle for a certain `entropy function'. We
Exact holography and black hole entropy in N=8 and N=4 string theory
We compute the exact entropy of one-eighth and one-quarter BPS black holes in N=8 and N=4 string theory respectively. This includes all the N=4 CHL models in both K3 and T^4 compactifications. The
Black hole entropy, special geometry and strings
We review work done over the last years on the macroscopic and microscopic entropy of supersymmetric black holes in fourdimensional = 2 supergravity and in = 2 compactifications of string theory and
Certain helicity trace indices of charged states in N = 4 and N = 8 superstring theory have been computed exactly using their explicit weakly coupled microscopic descrip- tion. These indices are
All solutions of the localization equations for N = 2 quantum black hole entropy
We find the most general bosonic solution to the localization equations describing the contributions to the quantum entropy of supersymmetric black holes in fourdimensional N = 2 supergravity coupled
Subleading and non-holomorphic corrections to N=2 BPS black hole entropy
BPS black hole degeneracies can be expressed in terms of an inverse Laplace transform of a partition function based on a mixed electric/magnetic ensemble, which involves a non-trivial integration
