The data of carbon stock of central African swamps forests are very few. This study carried out an assessment of the carbon stock of living biomass and coarse woody debris of three biotopes (flooded forest, seasonal flooded forest, and terra firm forest) of Likouala swamp forest (North of Congo). The average of the carbon stock are 190.72±98.7 tC/ha, 39.69±21.24 tC/ha, and 9.45±6.6 tC/ha respectively for above ground, billow ground, and coarse woody debris. The carbon stock of our swamp forest…

Stock de carbone dans les gros débris ligneux végétaux : cas des forêts tropicales pluvieuses de la Likouala, République du Congo
In order to improve the knowledge of the functioning of tropical rainfall forests in the Congo basin ,a study on the quantification of the stocks of carbon in coarse woody debris was done in
Floristic diversity and carbon stocks in the periphery of Deng–Deng National Park, Eastern Cameroon
Carbon is continuously being removed from the atmosphere by photosynthesis and stored in carbon pools (live, dead, and soil carbon) of forest ecosystems. However, carbon stock in dead wood and of
Carbon management for savannah ecosystems in Central Africa: a case study from Cameroon
The overall objective of this work is to assess the carbon sequestration potential and ecological service of savannah ecosystems in Cameroon. The destructive and non-destructive method was used to
Fine Roots Dynamics in Two Forest Strata of a Semi-Deciduous Forest in Northern Republic of Congo
The biomass, production, turnover and fine root turnover of the two forest strata studied significantly decreased with increasing soil depth, with an increase in lifespan, and the lifespan of fine roots increased with the depth of the soil.
Diversity, Structure and Carbon Stocks from Three Pools in the Kouoghap Sacred Forest, Hedgerows and Eucalyptus Plantations in the Batoufam Locality (West Cameroon)
The aim of this study was to make an inventory of the trees and estimate hedgerows and eucalyptus plantations carbon stocks in comparison with that of the Kouoghap sacred forest which is the only
Changements de l’occupation des Terres dans la Forêt Classée des Monts Kouffé et sa Périphérie Sud au Bénin (1986-2006)
Monts Kouffe forest reserve and its southern surrounding undergo pressures of fast population growth, shifting cultivation, over pasture, poaching, unfair forestry utilization. This study aims to
Current knowledge on the Cuvette Centrale peatland complex and future research directions
The Cuvette Centrale is the largest tropical peatland complex in the world, covering approximately 145,000 km2 across the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It stores ca. 30.6 Pg
Carbon Stocks in Dead Wood Biomass of Savannah Ecosystems in Northern Region Cameroon
Cotinus coggygria Scop. is widely used in ethnopharmacology such as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, as well as for countering diarrhea, gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Stock and Flow of Carbon in Plant Woody Debris in Two Different Types of Natural Forests in Bateke Plateau, Central Africa
In order to know the role of plant woody debris in the carbon cycle, a study of carbon stocks and carbon flow of plant woody debris was conducted in the natural forests of the centre of the republic
Carbon pools of an intact forest in Gabon
The carbon stocks of a naturally forested landscape unaffected by direct human impact are estimated, serving as a benchmark to assess ecosystem carbon loss/gain for the Massif du Chaillu in Gabon and the Republic of Congo.
Evaluating the Carbon Stock in Above-and Below-Ground Biomass in a Moist Central African Forest
The study aimed to estimate the carbon stocks of above-and below-ground biomass in Lesio-louna forest (Republic of Congo). The methodology of allometric equations was used to measure the carbon
Amazon forests could be globally significant sinks or sources for atmospheric carbon dioxide, but carbon balance of these forests remains poorly quantified. We surveyed 19.75 ha along four 1-km
Coarse woody debris carbon stocks in natural spruce forests of Babia hora
Although coarse woody debris (CWD) represents one of the major carbon pools in natural forest ecosystems, little information is available about its CWD carbon stocks. This study demonstrates the
Net primary productivity allocation and cycling of carbon along a tropical forest elevational transect in the Peruvian Andes.
The net primary productivity, carbon (C) stocks and turnover rates (i.e. C dynamics) of tropical forests are an important aspect of the global C cycle. These variables have been investigated in
Woody Debris and the Carbon Budget of Secondary Forests in the Southern Yucatán Peninsular Region
Land-use change, in the Southern Yucatan Peninsular Region (SYPR), is creating a mosaic of agricultural lands, secondary forests, and disturbed mature forests (montanas). Swidden agriculture, in the
