In a prospective randomized study, we found that the addition of a preoperative duplex scan before varicose vein (VV) surgery reduced recurrences and reoperations after 2 years. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether this correlates with an improved quality of life (QoL). We studied 293 patients scheduled for VV surgery with or without preoperative duplex.
