Qualitative and quantitative changes in nuclear DNA and phenotypic expression of human malignant skin tumors were examined during the course of progression. The numerical abnormalities of chromosomes demonstrated by interphase cytogenetics using the chromosome-specific in situ hybridization technique, were also used to reveal qualitative DNA changes in malignant tumor cells.
