Abstract We study Python’s lunch geometries in the two-dimensional Jackiw-Teitelboim model coupled to a massless scalar field in the semiclassical limit. We show that all extrema including the minimal quantum extremal surface, bulges and appetizers lie inside the horizon. We obtain fully back-reacted general bulk solutions with a massless scalar field, which can be understood as deformations of black holes. The temperatures of the left/right black holes become in general different from each…

Cauchy Slice Holography: A New AdS/CFT Dictionary
We investigate a new approach to holography in asymptotically AdS spacetimes, in which time rather than space is the emergent dimension. By making a sufficiently large T 2 -deformation of a Euclidean
Quantum Error Correction in the Black Hole Interior
: We study the quantum error correction properties of the black hole interior in a toy model for an evaporating black hole: Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity entangled with a non-gravitational bath. After

A world without pythons would be so simple
We show that bulk operators lying between the outermost extremal surface and the asymptotic boundary admit a simple boundary reconstruction in the classical limit. This is the converse of the
The Python’s Lunch: geometric obstructions to decoding Hawking radiation
Inspired by tensor network models, a precise formula relating the computational hardness of distilling information to geometric properties of the wormhole is conjecture — specifically to the exponential of the difference in generalized entropies between the two non-minimal quantum extremal surfaces that constitute the obstruction.
Holographic micro thermofield geometries of BTZ black holes
A bstractWe find general deformations of BTZ spacetime and identify the corresponding thermofield initial states of the dual CFT. We deform the geometry by introducing bulk fields dual to primary
On the dynamics of near-extremal black holes
A bstractWe analyse the dynamics of near-extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes in asymptotically four-dimensional Anti de Sitter space (AdS4). We work in the spherically symmetric approximation and
A covariant holographic entanglement entropy proposal
With an aim towards understanding the time-dependence of entanglement entropy in generic quantum field theories, we propose a covariant generalization of the holographic entanglement entropy proposal
Finding pythons in unexpected places
We argue that novel (highly nonclassical) quantum extremal surfaces (QESs) play a crucial role in reconstructing the black hole interior even for isolated, single-sided, non-evaporating black holes
Maximin Surfaces, and the Strong Subadditivity of the Covariant Holographic Entanglement Entropy
The covariant holographic entropy conjecture of AdS/CFT relates the entropy of a boundary region R to the area of an extremal surface in the bulk spacetime. This extremal surface can be obtained by a
Quantum extremal surfaces: holographic entanglement entropy beyond the classical regime
A bstractWe propose that holographic entanglement entropy can be calculated at arbitrary orders in the bulk Planck constant using the concept of a “quantum extremal surface”: a surface which
Holographic Complexity Equals Bulk Action?
The hypothesis that black holes are the fastest computers in nature is discussed and the conjecture that the quantum complexity of a holographic state is dual to the action of a certain spacetime region that is called a Wheeler-DeWitt patch is illustrated.
Black hole explosions?
QUANTUM gravitational effects are usually ignored in calculations of the formation and evolution of black holes. The justification for this is that the radius of curvature of space-time outside the
