Human alpha uterine protein (AUP) has been prepared from extracts of decudua by antibody affinity chromatography, DEAE Sepharose chromatography and by filtration through Sephadex G-150. This procedure yielded a protein fraction containing AUP, which was labelled with 125I by chloramine T. When analysed by SDS gel electrophoresis this radioiodinated protein fraction was found to contain predominantly a single species of protein which was precipitated by antibodies against AUP in antibody-antigen… Expand
Identification, immunoaffinity purification and partial characterization of a human decidua-associated protein.
TLDR
The data suggest that hDP200 is a novel human decidua-associated protein that did not react with polyclonal antibodies specific for PP12 and PP14 and is suggested to be a subunit of the hDP55. Expand
Identification, immunoaffinity purification and initial characterization of a novel 71 kD human decidua associated protein by use of specific monoclonal antibodies.
TLDR
Evidence is presented showing that the monoclonal antibodies described above are specific for hDP71, a novel decidual-associated glycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of 71 kD that has been identified and purified by immunoaffinity technique using monoclotal antibodies. Expand
Monoclonal antibodies against endometrial protein PP14 and their use for purification and radioimmunoassay of PP14.
TLDR
This study suggests that, unlike hCG, little PP14 is secreted into maternal urine, and a highly specific radioimmunoassay was developed. Expand
An investigation into placental protein 14, a modulator of the immune response associated with human reproduction
TLDR
Investigations into Placental Protein 14, a immunomodulator involved in human reproduction, included the development of a purification procedure and an investigation of the activity of the protein, which established that PP14 shares many of the characteristic features of this family of proteins including the presence of a binding pocket. Expand
Localization of alpha-uterine protein in human endometrium.
TLDR
Specific staining in the glandular epithelium of the endometrium during the secretory phase of the menstrual cycle and during pregnancy, and in a patient on an oestrogen-progestagen contraceptive pill, strongly suggests that AUP is secreted into the uterine lumen. Expand
A 5IK Progestin-Regulated Protein Secreted by Human Endometrial Cells in Primary Culture*
TLDR
The effect of a progestin (R5020) consistently stimulated the synthesis of a minor protein of 51,000 mol wt secreted by both epithelial and stromal cells. Expand
Progesterone induces a secretory protein in cultured rabbit endometrial stromal cells.

  • 1986
TLDR
Synthesis and secretion of this protein in the culture system described is potentially useful as a progestin bioassay and induction appears to be specific for a progesterone receptor mediated effect. Expand
Suppression of in vitro lymphocyte reactivity to phytohemagglutinin by placental protein 14.
TLDR
PP14, which is present at peak levels in the first trimester of pregnancy and constitutes up to 10% of the soluble protein content of decidual tissue, may be an immunomodulator important for the survival of the implanting embryo and maintenance of early pregnancy. Expand
IDENTIFICATION OF PLACENTAL PROTEIN 14 AS AN IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE FACTOR IN HUMAN REPRODUCTION
TLDR
Extracts of human decidual tissue obtained in the first trimester of pregnancy showed potent suppressive activity in mixed lymphocyte cultures, and PP14 may be an important immunomodulator in the human reproductive system. Expand
Endometrial protein PP14: a new test of endometrial function?
TLDR
It is now clear that placental protein 12 and PP14 arise from the maternal endometrium (decidua) rather than the fetal trophoblast, and, in theory, might be an excellent clinical test of endometrial function. Expand

TLDR
Investigation of cross-reaction between human and rabbit alpha-fetoprotein found that the amino acid composition of rabbit AFP resembled that of human AFP, but the number of basic amino acids was 20 per cent higher in rabbit AFP. Expand
Proteins in human uterine fluid.
TLDR
The proteins in saline washings from uteri of women at different stages of the menstrual cycle were examined by polacrylamide gel electrophoresis at pH 4-5 and pH 8-9, isoelectric focusing in polyacryamide, and immunoelectrophoresIs, revealing elevated activities of several glycosidases. Expand
An estrogen modulated protein in rabbit oviducal fluid.
TLDR
A low molecular weight protein has been detected in oviducal fluid of normal mature estrous rabbits, but is absent from serum of the same animals, and is accordingly designated as an estrogen modulated protein. Expand

TLDR
The distribution of the major non-plasma proteins during the menstrual cycle was not statistically significant but that of a pretransferrin, observed in uterine flushings and in peritoneal fluid, was significant. Expand
