Cell wall-bound invertases (EC 3.2.1.26) from both sugar beet seedlings and aged slices of mature roots were purified to homogeneity separately with CM-cellulose chromatography and Bio-Gel P-150 gel filtrations. The enzymes behaved similarly throughout the purification procedures.
