Pulmonary interstitial emphysema--surgical management; report of three cases.

Abstract

Three patients with pulmonary interstitial emphysema (PIE) were treated by surgical intervention for two complications of the disease, stiff lung with reduced pulmonary compliance, and persistent tension pneumothorax.
