Preliminary to a study of four Eriophyid galls occurring very commonly in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, it was necessary to determine the taxonomic position of the causative parasites. As a result of examinations of many specimens from each gall collected over a period of several months these mites were determined to be new forms of Eriophyes and a detailed description was made to indicate the relationship of each of these forms.
