Sirs: Danazol is a synthetic ethisterone derivative, which inhibits the secretion and production of pituitary gonadotropins. It exhibits anabolic and androgenic effects and does not have intrinsic oestrogen or gestagen activity. It is used in the therapy of endometriosis, ideopathic infertility, benign breast disease, menorrhagia , hereditary angioneurotic oedema, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and immune haemolytic anaemia.
