ABSTRACT Textural and petrographic analysis of Quaternary sediments from twenty-one piston cores obtained at six locations on the Labrador continental shelf and slope has shown the following: (a) sand-silt-clay and silty sand are the most common sediments, (b) texture of sediment in cores obtained at closely spaced intervals varies with water depth, and (c) mineralogic composition of core sediments is broadly related to the Precambrian crystalline rocks of Labrador.
