The absolute glucose concentrations in subcutaneous adipose tissue and skeletal muscle were determined with microdialysis in 10 normal-weight, healthy subjects during a standardized hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemic clamp. The concentration of tissue dialysate glucose was measured in 15-min fractions and compared with that in arterialized venous plasma.
