We show that gauge coupling unification in supersymmetry (SUSY) models can make a nontrivial interconnection between collider and proton decay experiments. Under the assumption of precise gauge coupling unification in the Minimal Supersymmeric Standard Model, with negligible grand unified theories threshold corrections, the low energy SUSY spectrum and the unification scale are intertwined, and the lower bound on the proton lifetime can be translated into upper bounds on SUSY masses. We find… Expand

A new approach to gauge coupling unification and proton decay
A bstractAn analytical formalism, including RG running at two loop order, is used to link the supersymmetric and GUT spectra in any GUT model in which the three gauge couplings unify. In eachExpand

Nucleon decay in the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unification
We make a detailed analysis on the nucleon decay in the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified model. We find that a requirement of the unification of three gauge coupling constants leads to aExpand
High-scale supersymmetry, the Higgs boson mass, and gauge unification

Precision unification and proton decay in F-theory GUTs with high scale supersymmetry
A bstractF-theory GUTs provide a promising UV completion for models with approximate gauge coupling unification, such as the (non-supersymmetric) Standard Model. More specifically, if theExpand

Grand unification at intermediate mass scales through extra dimensions
Abstract One of the drawbacks of conventional grand unification scenarios has been that the unification scale is too high to permit direct exploration. In this paper, we show that the unificationExpand
