The separation of proteins by polyelectrolyte coacervation or precipitation is based on electrostatically-driven complex formation. We have investigated complexation between the globular protein BSA and the polyelectrolyte poly(dimethyldially1ammonium chloride) (PDMDAAC) using light-scattering techniques to monitor solution turbidity.
