A multicentre case-control study conducted by the FEBrile Infections and Melanoma (FEBIM) group has demonstrated a reduced risk of melanoma associated with Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and/or vaccinia vaccination in early childhood and/or with infectious diseases later in life.
